My name is Kimya and I am a singer songwriter from Birmingham. I write alternative/folk music. My passion lies in lyrics where I write about anything from lost loves, self loathing, fears, hopes and dreams. My favourite songs are those that are essentially stories, with a start and an end, often writing about people who subconsciously have similar experiences to my own. For me, song writing is a form of expression and it is the mechanism through which I express my inner state of mind. I am not afraid to bear my soul through music. I began song writing 4 years ago however my sound has matured since then as difficult lifetime lessons and hardships throughout my time at university has shaped the music I create. These experiences however, are what make me human and I only hope that listeners can identify with my melancholy and haunting sound.
